TUESDAY PICKS FROM WESTERN FAIR- BRONCOBUSTER
Best Bet- Race 3 #4 Foolishly, M/L 8-5 WIN WAGER. Bounced miserably as the heavy chalk last out. That result is a head scratcher, given the form he showed prior to that. This is the weakest field he has seen in a while and it would be best to toss that last race right out. Reversal in form today and this one jiggy jogs all the way to bank, short price and all!
Next Best- Race 7 #3 Count to Ten, M/L 2-1.WIN WAGER. Rather chalky play but should be a win all the same. Will be put on the chooch from a productive post and will make every call a winning today. I dont like usually having a single going into any last leg of a multi race pool, but this guy looks like a single in the last leg off the pick 4. May provide a chance to do some value shopping in one or more of the other legs.
Value Bet- Race 12 #4 Suntan Place, M/L 5-1 WIN PLACE SHOW. Was looking for a nice value play today, but i just dont see any Blind Luck in here, sorry Whisperer, couldn’t resist. So, with no blind luck, we’ll turn to some hopeful luck with a horse who has hinted that some good things may happen soon. At this level this horse looks to possess enough qualtiies to be in the mix and may provide enough value to cover him across the board. He must be included in any gimmicks that you may play in the get out race of the day.

This truely is an unpredictable sport but its knowing how to get the odds in your favour.
Gulfstream Park yet again threw up a huge winner on Sunday in the first race.
The largest return I have seen in a long long while $329.50 to be exact $100 for the place and $45 for the show on the # 11 horse Alke Green. Remarkable odds at a meet like that.
FLUKE you may say, jockey collution. I looked at the the PP’s couldnt find anything that would predict a huge payoff like that, OTHER than he had a light weight jock onboard he was getting 7 pounds off the rest of the field.
First quarter 25.3 and slow but the jock on the maiden hadn’t moved a muscle and looked impressive.
She was neck and neck around the turn with the chaulk shook up and won easily hands and heels the first two winning by 15 lengths on the rest of the field.
Lesson learned ….you have to get to the morning workouts and clock these horses not just for time but for posture when they work, ease and also record how well the jocks can ride especially the young ones.
Watch for S. Ribera in the future he can ride and judge a race class act from jock and horse.
Apologies from the Whipserer I should have at least had him as a value bet.
Once bitten twice shy………

Racing2day.com Wagering Preview for Sunday March 7th.
Race 4 at Santa Anita is a competitive six and a half furlong allowance on the downhill turf course in which Red Sun has been installed as the favorite. A winner of three of his four starts, including two on this course, Red Sun, who is trained by Carla Gaines, will be ridden by Rafael Bejarano. Amongst his strongest rivals in this full field may be Mr. Bossy Pants who most recently finished a close fourth at this level over the course and distance. Others to consider include the recent import from England, Exclamation and Coronet Of A Baron who was second in the Del Mar Futurity as a two-year-old and was third in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf.
The 10th at Gulfstream is a mile and a sixteenth allowance on the grass for three-year-olds. Eleven will go to post headed by Guys Reward who was a decent fifth in the Dania Beach Stakes here two starts back. No Shenanigans will represent Todd Pletcher and must be considered making his turf debut. Others to consider include Harken Up who won his lone try on the grass and is trained by Ian Wilkes and Show The Way J who was most recently third at this level over the course and distance for Bill Mott.
BEST BET–GULFSTREAM PARK–RACE 3–# 1 BUCKLEUPBUTTERCUP.
This filly get s the rail in this 6 1/2 furlong sprint on the dirt. She is UNDEFEATED on the dirt. 2 losses on turf come sandwiched between 2 dirt wins sprinting 6f and 7f. Kenneally goes to Leparoux today. Things look good here.
NEXT BEST–GULFSTREAM PARK—RACE 6–# 1 SAL THE BARBER.
This optional 8ok claimer is actually a stakes race as every entry has Graded stakes lines in their pp’s. The best race on the card at Gulfstream today. Clement taps Leparoux for the ride today, he is clearly the best turf rider at Gulfstream. Any time you get the Eclipse winner in a jockey change in a big race, I’m going there. The horse has won over this turf course. Jockeys make or break you at GP. Some win and some ride like they fell off a turnip truck. This one make all the difference in here today.
VALUE BET–FAIR GROUNDS—RACE 3–# 3 TOLL.
Never on grass(today’s surface) this gal is bred for it. We get a peek of her ability when she ran on the poly at Keeneland, her lone placing of 3 starts. Stakes winner in her blood top and bottom, I expect her to run big for Al Stall in this spot.
Bonjour! Sunday at Fair Grounds…
Best Bet: Fair Grounds Race 1 WIN #4 Lady Symphony (8/5 ML). A field of six 3YO fillies are scheduled to start in the opener today, a six furlong maiden claimer. I think Lady Symphony could graduate today, but she will probably be challenged by her peers. All these girls carry equal weight of 120 pounds and have a $25k claiming tag. I expect Shane Sellers to take Lady Symphony across the wire ahead of the rest.
Next Best: Fair Grounds Race 8 WIN #5 Songtress (5/1 ML). My Next Best today should offer some value if she can pull off a win. This 4YO Kentucky-bred filly looks like a very legitimate contender in this six furlong allowance race and I think Asmussen has her right where she belongs.
Value Bet: Fair Grounds Race 3 WIN #2 Go Pro (5/1 ML). This 5 ½ furlong maiden special weight brings together a field of fillies and looks very contentious. Let’s hope her morning line odds increase and try to win some moolah. Enjoy the rest of the weekend racing and check back soon!
Bonne Chance! Monsieur Chanceux
The rain kept away and an exciting days racing prevailed at Santa Anita. The Horse Whipserer’s selections all finished in the money and getting beat a total of 1 1/2 lengths. Tough going but exciting all the same.
This should be a stellar year from here on in.
The battle of the super filly’s to look forward too.
The Dubai World Cup with record participation by American horses.
Even the sales ring is full of optimism 2010 is the year of the horse……

#8 The Sweet Dion
Likely to have things her own way down the backside with the other speed buried. Takes them around in a wire job.
Next Best Bet

#6 JL’s Man Of Action
Right to be tighter for this and faces weaker. Sears likely to be in position to win at top of lane.
Value Bet
Race 2
Exacta Box
#3 Gunman’s Bandit, #9 Ideal Matters
Daley and Tetrick appear to have something special in Ideal Matters. I’m looking for an upset with an improving pacer. Rooting for the thirty-nine.

Jersey Joe, Mile Pro
BEST BET—SANTA ANITA–RACE 8–# 5 BLIND LUCK.
Get a good look at this filly today. She will win the Kentucky Oaks in a bit less than 2 months. Remember, she has already won on dirt, that 13+ length maiden win at Calder. She is a win machine and the machine will be in top gear this afternoon.
NEXT BEST–SANTA ANITA—RACE 10–# 6 LOUP BRETON.
The BIG Cap aain’t the BIG Cap anymore. The fake track took care of that. Imagine Zenyatta and Rachel facing off in this today. The plastic took that away as well as the luster from this race today. Again a grass horse will swoop in and win a dirt race at Santa Anita that isn’t run on dirt. LOUP BRENTON, a good turf runner, will do just that today.
VALUE BET—SANTA ANITA—RACE 9–# 3 AWESOME GEM.
This guy runs good every time out. Problem is he is in against the best around most of the time. Although the Kilroe is a Grade I , the top horses are void from this today. This gives AWESOME GEM a big shot at Big Odds.
SATURDAY PICKS FROM SANTA ANITA- BRONCOBUSTER
It’s a day full of big events, lets hope they don’t have to cancel the card.. May be I’m being a little faceious but, for whatever reason, the drainage problems that have plagued this track have once again reared its ugly head and forced multiple cancellations, again this year! The rains forced yet another cancellation last Saturday, the second Saturday lost in three weeks! That cancellation forced the rescheduling of the 3 yrd. old Sham Stakes which has been added to todays card. A card already full of big stake events for older horses. It will be interesting to see how a week delay effects some of these 3 yr. olds, some of which are still dreaming of the Kentucky Derby. Here are my picks for today, lets hope the Sun’s out!!!
SANTA ANITA-
Best bet- Race 1 #1 Blue Tambourine, M/L 7-2. WIN WAGER. This one debuted in a maiden claimer back in January and after a terrible start was full of run. The runneup finish was rather eye catching and prompts a move to the maiden special waits today. With that initial experience out of the way, this one has since been working well and has every opportunity to graduate at a square price.
Next Best- Race 7 SHAM STAKES, #6 Kettle River, M/L 6-1.WIN WAGER. Sticking to my guns with this guy. He has been on my radar screen since popping a very respectable 90 beyer in his last. He comes across as a one who may have the ability to take a giant leap forward and one who may stamp himself as a true Derby contender. Those are high aspirations and it has to start somewhere. He was my pick last week and there’s no reason to change my feelings about this one today. Another big shot at a fair price.
Value Bet- Race 5 #2 Nericon King, M/L 12-1. WIN PLACE SHOW. WIN WAGER. Is the lone speed in a race where he is dropping in class and cutting back in distance. A recipe that is usually successful. The odds on this one give us a chance for a WPS try and if his lead goes uncontested, he will be dangerous and looking to grab the lions share!
