Or ’The Secret of the Virtuous Horseshoe’ is a large Mexican good luck charm made from a used horseshoe wrapped with colourful rayon thread and decorated with sequins and prints of San Martin Caballero. The charm is designed to attract good fortune and is favoured by many Mexican or Hispanic gamblers. So with all that good fortune on El Secreto’s side how can he fail to ‘pick’ winners for Racing2day members.

The Backstretch is the area in a horse racetrack where horses are stabled and the training and daily work of maintaining the horses occurs. In many race tracks it will be found directly across the track from the grandstands and may also be called “the other side of the track.”
Our own Back Stretch Al hails from the East Coast and has a huge amount of experience of picking winners by closing studying how the horses operate in the ‘back stretch’ of the racetrack. With his in-depth knowledge of the East Coast circuit can you afford not to listen to his ‘voice of reason’.

Greetings from the Bluegrass -where the women are fast and the horses are good-lookin’! I’m Lady Luck, a Kentucky born-and-bred filly. I’ll be visiting with you every now and then to talk about one of my favorite pastimes – horse racing!
Ahhh, Fall! The best time of year. The trees are performing their annual striptease, Keeneland is wrapping up its October meet, the U of KY ‘Cats actually won an SEC game and the little ghosties and goblins are plotting their candy mooching strategy. But the most exciting part of the season is taking place Oct 24 and 25 at Santa Anita. The 25th running of the Breeders’ Cup!
It’s all about the ladies the first day of the Breeders’ Cup races. The top fillies & mares in the world will be competing in five races on Friday. Then the boys take the stage on Saturday in nine “co-ed” races. It’s tough enough picking the best of this elite bunch, and Santa Anita’s Pro-Ride synthetic track adds to the challenge this year. There are some big fields this year, which could lead to some nice exotic payouts. I’ll round up my four-leaf-clover, rabbit’s foot and horseshoe, rub a Buddha belly, and do my very best to come up with a few betting ideas for you.
