Picks for Sunday August 30th.
Best bet: Arlington Race 4. #3 SANDECKER (ML 9/2). Was closing when fourth over seven furlongs last time and gets an extra furlong here to work with. Has worked well recently and James Graham stays.
Next best: Arlington Race 9: #6 APPROVED WOMAN (ML 6/1). Ran well at Presque Isle two back but was out classed last time versus better. Meets a poor bunch here.
Value bet: Arlington Race 5:#1 CHEERS (ML 6/1). Well bred and expensive filly showed some speed in lone turf try before retreating. Has not raced since February but has been working lights out for this return.

Bonjour! Sunday at Louisiana Downs…
Friday recap: Friday went great, the Best Bet paid $3.40 and the Value
Bet paid $12.20. Let’s try to cash in on some more winners today!
Best Bet: Louisiana Downs Race 3 WIN #6 Stacey Lee (8/5 ML). This race
features 3YO+ running 7 furlongs and Stacey Lee is a 4YO
Louisiana-bred filly who should have what it takes to win this one.
This filly also has room for improvement with her return to the dirt
today. She may be challenged by #5 Go Morgan Go (2/1 ML), but I expect
to see her in the winner’s circle.
Next Best: Louisiana Downs Race 6 WIN #7 Roar Cat (2/1 ML). This 7 ½
furlong claimer for 2YO maidens will be run on the Turf. Roar Cat
should pack his cap and gown because I expect him to graduate today.
This 2YO Kentucky-bred colt will certainly face some competition, but
I think he’ll be first at the wire.
Value Bet: Louisiana Downs Race 7 EXACTA BOX #5 Port Captain (9/5 ML)
with #1 Tale of the Tape (3/1 ML). The seventh race on today’s card
will be run at 6 furlongs and features a field of 3YO+. I like the
chances of these two and think they could return a nice exacta, but
keep an eye on the late pool. Enjoy the rest of the card at Louisiana
Downs and across the nation with R2D!
Bonne Chance! Monsieur Chanceux
Not a bad day of betting at Arlington yesterday. My value bet exacta was right on and next best won, too. So let’s keep up the momentum and wrap up the month with some Sunday winners at Arlington.
Your BEST BET is 3 APACHE HONOR in RACE 3 (5/2 ML). This guy has been in great form here – finishing in the money in his last 4 local starts. Been working well for this and trainer McKeever and pilot Razo know how to win races.
Your NEXT BEST BET is 2 SASSY SHORE BREEZE in RACE 6 (5/1 ML). Has yet to seal the deal on the synthetic with 6 places at Arlington, but is coming off a nice win at Canterbury which might be the confidence booster she needs. This level suits her and new trainer is doing well this meet. Graham stays on board.
Your VALUE BET is WIN/PLACE on 4 FERVENT HOPE in RACE 9 (20/1 ML). This gal had a rough time at Churchill Downs this summer, but she has shown a few flashes of promise in her rocky career. Gets shades today for new trainer and jockey Sterling has won some races for this barn. Changes in karma might just do the trick for this filly.
Lady Luck
BEST BET–ARLINGTON PARK—RACE 8 # 3 UPSELL.
Colt is 2 for 2 since the switch to the fake track at Arlington. See no reason why the streak can’t continue today. Meets a very weak bunch and should have no problem disposing of this field.
NEXT BEST—ARLINGTON PARK–RACE 5 # 4 BOOGIE RED.(TURF ONLY).
Filly comes off the bench for Jeff Thornbury after a late closing 6th over that sandy
turf course at Fair Grounds. Has a nice series of works for today and gets top jock in Jeff Graham.
VALUE BET—ARLINGTON PARK–RACE 4 # 6 JILLY FROM PHILLY/# 2 MIKES GUST O.
Send it in on this 2 number exacta play. Mikes Gust O has the speed and Jilly has the late foot. Make a nice exacta box here…6/2…2/6.

SUNDAY SELECTIONS FROM BRONCOBUSTER-
What better way to spend a Sunday in late summer than a day at the track. Fallen to a bit of seconditis this weekend, but there’s one day left to make amends and see if I can’t turn some of the positives of those near misses into winner’s! R2D has spent the weekend covering Calder, Arlington, and Louisiana Downs as the tracks of choice with lots of opportunities for the taking, hopefully some of you have been able to make use of some of the selections and winners that the R2D team have been able to provide. Hopefully, some tickets have been cashed and remember the team will conitnue to provide the kind of information that is in-valuable. When playing your races, get on board with R2D and be a winner!
To close out another weekend, Broncobuster offers these picks for your consideration and good luck!
Best Bet- Calder, Race 7 #4 Flatter Me Blue, M/L 2-1. WIN WAGER. 4 y.o campaign has been a disappointment after a healthy year last season when he was 8/12 in the frame and 68K. In his own defense he’s been protected this season and put in some difficult spots. After drops from N3X and N2X consecutively, this one is finally put into a likely spot in this 16K claimer for N1X. That kind of drop makes him a dangerous contender today.
Next Best- Louisiana Downs, Race 1 #3 Joey’s Mizzen Mast, M/L 5-2.WIN WAGER. Has shown some versatility early on in his career being both fowardly placed 2 back and used a stalking style in the latest off honest fractions. Both were credible efforts given the circumstances and now he makes his 3rd start on the turf . Finally gets the distance he’s been wanting. Patrick V. is sticking with this guy and the shades go on. With Woodman in this guys pedigree, the lawn and a flat mile should be right up his alley.
Value Bet- Arlington, Race 7 #6 Higher Aspirations, M/L 9-2. WIN, PLACE, SHOW. First time starter who is working well for his debut. I like the work out pattern and note the 6F workout in 1:12. That workout is significant as it is a furlong longer than the actual distance of todays race and thats an angle i am all over. The bad news is first timers only win their debut’s about 5% of the time, so an across the board wager and some value is a must! Risk vs. Reward, so lets hope he’s ready and the price is square.

The Whisperer has used up all his bad luck over the last two day tipster challenge, still manged to give a winner a day at pretty decent odds. Scratches are killing him though, Eastern Seaboard is experiencing some lousy weather but rest assured all selections are made with a weather allowance.
ARLINGTON PARK
BEST BET …… RACE 4 …… # 3 SANDECKER.
38k maiden special wieght over a mile, interesting race the horses that have lots of experience have not to much class and the less experienced seem to have talent to call on. Good solid trainer Jock partnership had a few equipment problems in last but still posted a reasonable beyer in defeat. Out of Street Cry 150k to cover so this home bred has a bill to pay. will be challanged by Jilly from Philly same kind of credentials and heavily backed on his debut. No obvious pace in the race tactics will be the order of the day I stick with Mr Graham from Dublin to be the shrewdest jock in town a good start to the day I “say”.
CALDER RACE COURSE
NEXT BEST …… RACE 8 ……# 5 Believeinthemoment.
Minium distance on the turf. Fillies and Mares. Big experienced field should relate to big juicy odds. A right mix match of performers… Robin Des Concorde lifetime earnings of 126k but done nothing this year.Cara’s song will fly out the gate in the 1 hole and try and wire it has a 5 pound claimer up only 3 wins he is in at the deep end to keep her going from start to finish. The selection looks poised to take the glory. Consistant will push the pace if none is shown had plentey in hand when winning last time out over 40k conditions. The price is right come on in…..
LOUISIANA DOWNS
VALUE BET …… RACE 8 …… # 9 RED HOT SO AN SO.
This could be easily the best bet of the day. Mile and 1/16th on the turf 7500clm on the turf for fillies and mares. Throw out the last race this gal is an out and out turfer stepping down big time in class. Still Quick…. will make sure she doesnt have it all her way and will be the speed in the race, but come the bussines end expect to see the selection confirm her generous odds……H.W.
The Jersey Joe Best Bets have been rock solid as of late and last night was no exception as our top choice rolled at Pocono. We head an hour and a half south today to Harrah’s Casino home of Chester Downs. You’ll recognize the driver colony as it looks like The Big M south here. Let’s have some fun and make some money as we enjoy the standardbred action on a beautiful Sunday.
Hats off to the fairer fellow R2D tipster Lady Luck as The Mile Pro was on board for one of her nicer scores this week!

Chester
Best Bet
Race 7
#4 Fashion Feline
Handed #5 his only lifetime defeat at Pocono in May. These two have been on a collision course for a rematch since. FF looks quicker, and arguably came out of the better heat at The Meadows. Never headed tonight and poses for another photo as JJ Best Bet.
Next Best Bet
Race 1
#2 Pilgrims Taj
Big try in the Haughton final at The Big M two. Faced weaker at Pocono and TCB’d with a winning effort. Came within a length of today’s fav right here at Chester in July and that one figures to face a little heat early on. Gelrod baby will be flying late.
Value Bet
Race 8
#3 Captain Cambest
This is a significant drop in class. Any of those Big M winners in last three would be odds-on here. Sears pilots again and third race back from the scratch. Should sit and pounce late as this one knows how to finish.
Regards,
Jersey Joe, Mile Pro
SATURDAY SELECTIONS- BRONCOBUSTER
Hope some of you were on board for my across the board play Friday where my 20-1 shot almost lit up the tote board. Caught late, so we setlled for a very nice place and show dividend! We’re back at the same 3 tracks again today to see if we can get back on track with some more winners!
Best Bet- Arlington Race 4 #8 Dreaminofjosephine, M/L 2-1. WIN WAGER. Recent barn change from Wesley Ward to Nick Canani who his hitting about 40% in his own right. This gal had a turf date over at Colonial back in June, but the race was taken off that day, so today will make the anticipated turf debut. This $ 170K yearling purchase has been well supported in 2 races to date and has been working briskly in the morning getting ready for this. Her early speed will be a huge asset in this 5F dash facing a number of first timers. Graduaton day today!
Next Best- Lousiana Downs Race 4 #6 Our Straight Flush, M/L 9-2. WIN WAGER. Faces beaten claimers for the second time after winning a N3L two back. Distance in his last didnt suit him and will no doubt appreciate the cut back to from 7F to 5.5F today. Likes to be fowardly placed and that asset has him in the frame in 4 of 5 lifetime at L.D, 15/19 overall, and 1/1 at todays distance. That all adds up to having a big shot and a meeting with the photographer in the winner’s circle today.
Value Bet- Calder Race 4 #5 Gimmeawinkpoppy, M/L 15-1.WIN, PLACE, SHOW Chased inside in his debut in a maiden 40 claimer at 50-1 before fading. That result doesn’t come as a surpise given the circumstances, but the early showing in that race is encouraging. Now gets a class drop to 25K second time out and the blinkers go on with the bug boy Ortiz sticking with him. Futher education comes in the form of a bullet work from the gate and all things considered, this guy is showing some positive signs that something big could be lying in the near future. A great value play across the board, especially if anywhere near the projected morning line.

Picks for Saturday August 29th.
Best bet: Calder Race 11. #6 CRUZIN WITH CASH (ML 6/1). Broke his maiden here with authority. Switches to the grass here but with a good work on the turf and suitable breeding that should not be a problem.
Next best: Calder Race 7. #8 MISS DELITE (ML 6/1). Chased the useful and fast Dashing Debby last time and now tries the turf. Gets a perfect pace scenario.
Value bet: Calder Race 9. #7 WINSOCKIE (ML 8/1). High percentage trainer Martin Wolfson puts this maiden in a stakes. Closed well to be second in maiden but may go one better here.
Bonjour! Saturday at Calder…
Best Bet: Calder Race Course Race 7 WIN #6 Girl Bar (3/1 ML). The
$100,000 Catcharisingstar Stakes will be run at 5 furlongs on the Turf
for 2YO fillies. Girl Bar won her only start at Gulfstream back in
April and I think Wesley Ward knows what he’s doing so I’m going with
this filly. Keep an eye on the longshot #7 Full of Gut with morning
line odds of 12/1.
Next Best: Calder Race Course Race 8 WIN #4 Hear Ye Hear Ye (6/5 ML).
The $100,000 Seacliff Stakes will feature 2YO running a Mile. Hear Ye
Hear Ye won his last start in a 6 furlong race at Calder and looks
like the horse to beat. He will face some competition, but I expect to
see him in the winner’s circle.
Value Bet: Calder Race Course Race 9 EXACTA BOX #5 Myakka City (5/2
ML) with #2 Sweetlalabye (3/1 ML). The $150,000 Florida Stallion
Susan’s Girl Stakes will feature 2YO fillies running 7 furlongs. I
like the chances of both Myakka City and Sweetlalabye, so I think a
boxed play would be smart. Let’s hope these horses run 1-2 and try to
cash some winners today!
Bonne Chance! Monsieur Chanceux
