The Hawthorne Kid strikes again! Next Best Bet scored for the 2nd day in a row – this time paying $13 for the win. Hmmm, need to get the Best Bet and Value Bets on board and we’ll really be on a roll. Let’s give it a shot with these Sunday Hawthorne picks.
Your BEST BET is 3 SYND in RACE 2 (5/1 ML). Mare is coming off a close win here with Hernandez on board and looks prime to do it again today. Is proven at this distance and at this track. High percentage trainer.
Your NEXT BEST BET is 3 SO BUSTED in RACE 8 (9/2 ML). Lost by a neck to Da Grizz in his last, but I think this guy will come out on top in the rematch today. Gets a new pilot who is no stranger to the winner’s circle here. Hot barn.
Your VALUE BET is WIN/PLACE on 1 LIEM’S LUCK in RACE 6 (10/1 ML). I love this filly and I’ve never seen her at a bargain morning line price like this. Yeah, she seems to prefer the turf, but has turned in some nice runs on the Hawthorne dirt. She should like the inside draw and the cut back in distance. If she gets a good break, she may be hard to catch.
Slight lull in the International racing calender. Santa Anita is finished till day after xmas. #4 Our Connor Mac
Came home in :28 in his qualifier, which went in 1:53:2 and would be good enough against these. Team Miller the connections here with Julie training 27% winners. Looks to pad those stats here. Takes them around the oval.

#6 Lolique
On quite a roll making a living taking on open Handicaps. Last three wins went from Pocono, to Colonial to here and the tactic and result has been the same in all three. There simply isn’t a bad post for this 6 yo gelding. There’s other talent here, but this guy is simply too sharp.

#1 Dink Adoo and # 5 Let’s Get Serious
Rail horse found a spot he could finally takes, Unfortunately he can stay there. He moves to NW 30k’s and draws the rail. Sharp enough torun one or two fro solid connections. Serious drops from open 30k’s, gets Tetrick back is legitimate favorite fro top honors.

Best Bet: In the MARATHON, #5 FATHER TIME (3-1) looms the one to beat in our book even though the morning-line choice just defeated him. Consider this a ‘value’ Best Bet.
Next Best: In the FILLY AND MARE TURF, the Juddmonte roll continues as the classy #6 MIDDAY (4-1) puts away a solid field in the stretch to give Henry Cecil his elusive ‘Cup victory.
Value Play: In the LADIES’ CLASSIC, #8 RAINBOW VIEW (6-1) looks very good to us in a deep field, and the odds should be excellent. The top filly had a nice prep in Canada leading up to this endeavor.

To help is in our journey we have enlisted the help of a knowledgeable and respected trainer, Andrew McKeever, based in the world famous training facilities at Keenland, Kentucky.
What is Andrew’s task, well simply to help Racing2day.com select a great horse for members of the Racing club to enjoy the sport of kings.
The following is a brief background on Andrew:
Andrew McKeever (Trainer)
Born and raised near the historic Curragh Racecourse in County Kildare, Ireland Andrew McKeever moved to California in the mid 1980s where he worked under trainers John Sullivan, Bill Shoemaker and Neil Drysdale. McKeever saddled his first runner in September 1995 and scored his first victory with his third starter, Factual Attraction in an allowance at Keeneland, two weeks later. Factual Attraction carried the colors of the successful partnership of Trudy McCaffery and John Toffan for whom McKeever also saddled Coast Of Mane to finish third in the 1999 Governor’s Handicap at Ellis Park.
Closing in on 100 career training triumphs with over $2.3 million in earnings, McKeever currently has 24 horses split between Keeneland and Arlington. Winning at an impressive 21 percent rate in 2009 (with 50 percent finishing in the money) McKeever’s recent runners at Arlington include the exciting three-year-old Spanish Baron and Embossed (Ire) who finished a close second in The Tin Man Stakes.
McKeever will return to Fair Grounds this winter where he achieved his career highlight last year through saddling Diamond Tycoon to win three consecutive races, culminating in a memorable victory in the grade three Fair Grounds Handicap.
