Best Bet: Arlington Park Race 1 WIN #2 Proud Osceola (7/5 ML). Today’s Best Bet is chalky, but odds on this horse could go up in this mile-long claimer — expect to see her in the winner’s circle.
Next Best: Arlington Park Race 5 WIN #7 Hot Rolston (5/2 ML). Hot Rolston is a 4YO Illinois-bred gelding who should have what it takes to win this mile-long claimer on the main track.
Value Bet: Arlington Park Race 6 WIN #7 Greytap (10/1 ML). Michael Baze could upset this mile-long turf contest aboard Greytap and if he can, this play should pay well. Good luck and may the horse be with you!
Bonne Chance! Monsieur Chanceux
Best Bet: Del Mar Race 5 WIN #4 Rathman. Tyler Baze will ride this 3YO Bluegrass-bred gelding in this six furlong maiden claimer and I expect to see these two in the winner’s circle.
Next Best: Del Mar Race 6 WIN #1 Very Vintage. This 3YO Cali-bred filly looks legitimate and Talamo should get the job done.
Value Bet: Del Mar Race 3 EXACTA BOX #6 Stacy’s Hope with #2 Conato. We could find some value in this race, but be sure to watch the exacta pool as the horses head to post. Check back tomorrow for more analysis from the team!
Bonne Chance! Monsieur Chanceux
Best Bet: Hastings Race 1 WIN #4 Wrath of the Flame. Today’s opener is a mile and 1/16th claimer with a modest field of only five entries. Wrath of the Flame could return a decent price for a Best Bet selection and is scheduled to carry several pounds less than the rest of the field (114 pounds). He’ll have to earn his oats today, but I think he’ll get the job done.
Next Best: Hastings Race 2 WIN #3 Mr. Collaborator. The next stop on this card is a three and 1/2 furlong maiden special weight and I think Perez will ride this 2YO Bluegrass-bred gelding to the winner’s circle.
Value Bet: Hastings Race 6 EXACTA BOX #1 Market Surge with #4 A Lasting Peace. Both of these horses look like they could grab this one and should return some value if they manage to complete this play. Ten entries are lined up to go six and 1/2 furlongs in this maiden claimer and the cash should be nice if these horses run 1-2. Enjoy the rest of your weekend with R2D and check back in soon for more from the team!
Best Bet: Colonial Downs Race 7 WIN #7 Libor Lady (3/5 ML). This five and ½ furlong claimer will be run on the outer turf and I have to go with the chalk in this one. I would be quite surprised if this horse fails to get the job done – but those odds need to go up for this selection to be playable. Keep an eye on how the wagering public casts their vote and don’t miss this play if odds improve at post time.
Next Best: Colonial Downs Race 8 WIN #6 Ravalo (6/5 ML). The $50,000 Chesapeake Stakes brings ten entries together; these guys are going six furlongs and all are scheduled to carry 118 pounds except for #5 Outsmarting Dixie (a 50/1 shot) that will carry 113 pound. Ravalo looks ready and I expect to see him in the winner’s circle.
Value Bet: Colonial Downs Race 5 WIN #3 Stole the Quarters (20/1 ML). This maiden claimer will be run at five and ½ furlongs on the outer turf and some value could be found here. Stole the Quarters is a 3YO Florida-bred filly looking to graduate and if she can, those who backed her will be rewarded nicely. Good luck and may the horse be with you!
Bonne Chance! Monsieur Chanceux
Best Bet: Colonial Downs Race 1 WIN #2 Tamboz (9/5 ML). Today’s opener is a mile and 1/16th claimer that will be run on the inner turf and brings nine entries together. I don’t see a whole lot of competition threatening Tamboz this time around, but let’s hope those odds increase at post time.
Next Best: Colonial Downs Race 5 WIN #1 Shadow Lane (7/2 ML). This mile-long claimer will be run on the inner turf and Shadow Lane looks like the horse to beat. This 4YO Maryland-bred filly should have what it takes, but keep an eye on the morning line favorite #6 Smart Tori (3/1 ML).
Value Bet: Colonial Downs Race 6 EXACTA BOX #1 Knight of Sin (5/2 ML) with #2 Zip Along (3/1 ML). I’m overdue for hitting an exacta and this looks like the race to do just that. A field of ten are scheduled to run five and ½ furlongs on the outer turf and the #1 and #2 horses look like they could very well finish in their post position order – but let’s box it to be safe. Let’s try to start the week off right with some winners and check back soon for more from team R2D!
Bonne Chance! Monsieur Chanceux
Best Bet: Colonial Downs Race 1 WIN #3 Pearls (6/5 ML). Today’s opener is a mile and 1/16th maiden special weight that will be run on the inner turf and Pearls looks like the one to beat. This 4YO Virginia-bred filly should be able to get the job done and break her maiden – look for her at the wire.
Next Best: Colonial Downs Race 4 WIN #1 Mister Dish (5/2 ML). Here’s another maiden special weight, this time they’re running five and ½ furlongs on the outer turf. Mister Dish is a 3YO Florida-bred gelding who looks good on paper. Keep an eye on #3 Royal Hill (7/2 ML), but I think Mr. Dish has this one.
Value Bet: Colonial Downs Race 5 WIN #6 Royal World (10/1 ML). This mile and 1/16th allowance race features a field of nine 3YO and 4YO fillies scheduled to head to post. This looks like an open race and I expect to see some nice payouts. Good luck and may the horse be with you!
Bonne Chance! Monsieur Chanceux
Best Bet: Colonial Downs Race 2 WIN #2 Just Another Bud (7/5 ML). This mile-long maiden claimer brings eight entries together and Just Another Bud, a 3YO Jersey-bred gelding, looks like the horse to beat. A couple of horses could challenge him, but he’ll carry six pounds less than most of the field (along with the horse starting to his inside, a 15/1 shot named Class Moon). I’m looking for Bud to graduate today.
Next Best: Colonial Downs Race 3 WIN #6 Blondeshavemorerun (5/2 ML). This five and ½ furlong claimer offers some heavy chalk with the coupled entry as the morning line favorite, but let’s set them aside – Blondeshavemorerun looks good and will return more cash if he takes this race.
Value Bet: Colonial Downs Race 4 WIN #8 Past the Reward (6/1 ML). Eight colts and geldings are scheduled to run five and ½ furlongs on the inner turf in this maiden claimer and Past the Reward looks to be worth playing. The gelded 3YO Bluegrass-bred will be ridden by Eric Camacho and should offer some value if he gets the job done. Check back soon for more from team R2D!
Bonne Chance! Monsieur Chanceux
Best Bet: Arlington Park Race 2 WIN #5 Coach Abs (9/5 ML). This six furlong claimer brings seven entries together, all geldings with a $5k tag on their back. Coach Abs should get the job done and be able to teach this field a lesson.
Next Best: Arlington Park Race 4 WIN #3 Mining for Silver (8/5 ML). These guys will all carry 121 pounds and run a mile and 1/16th on the main track – Mining for Silver looks like the one to beat. If his odds drop much lower at post time I’d consider passing on this play, otherwise I think experience will pay off for this 9YO gelding.
Value Bet: Arlington Park Race 1 STRAIGHT EXACTA #3 Backstabber (3/5 ML) with #1 One Goal (7/2 ML). Today’s opener looks like a cinch to find the winner, but you won’t get much money taking that approach. Let’s try a straight exacta and hope these horses run 1-2. Enjoy your weekend with R2D!
Bonne Chance! Monsieur Chanceux
Best Bet: Colonial Downs Race 3 WIN #5 I’m a Wahoo (2/1 ML). Ten horses are entered in this maiden claimer, a mile and 1/16th race that will be run on the inner turf. I’m a Wahoo is a homebred 3YO colt and I think he’ll earn his diploma today.
Next Best: Colonial Downs Race 2 WIN #3 Pride of the Fleet (3/1 ML). This five and ½ furlong claimer will be run on the outer turf and Pride of the Fleet, a 4YO Virginia-bred colt, looks like a winner. Let’s hope his odds don’t drop at post time, 3/1 is very playable.
Value Bet: Colonial Downs Race 6 WIN #2 Macho Prince (6/1 ML). This five and ½ furlong claimer will be run on the outer turf and Macho Prince, the youngest entry who will also carry a few pounds less than the rest, is a Florida-bred colt who could have what it takes to upset this one. Good luck and check back soon for more from team R2D!
Bonne Chance! Monsieur Chanceux
Best Bet: Arlington Race 3 WIN #3 Pretty in Mink (8/5 ML). This claimer will be run at a mile on the main track and features a field of fillies and mares 3YO+. Pretty in Mink looks like the girl to beat and should look pretty in the winner’s circle as well. Consider passing on this play if her odds drop lower at post time.
Next Best: Arlington Race 1 WIN #4 Council Oak (2/1 ML). Today’s opener is a five furlong maiden claimer that will be run on the turf. A field of 3YO and 4YO colts and geldings are fighting for the prize and Council Oak should get the job done. He’ll face some competition and I’d keep an eye on #2 Therion (7/2 ML), but look for Council Oak at the wire.
Value Bet: Arlington Race 6 WIN #3 Crepe Myrtle (6/1 ML). This five furlong maiden special weight looks like a very open contest, with over a dozen 2YO fillies appearing on the morning line. All these juvies will carry 118 pounds and I expect to see some value on the tote board afterwards. I think Michael Baze will ride Crepe Myrtle to graduation! Good luck and may the horse be with you!
Bonne Chance! Monsieur Chanceux
