Best Bet- Race 12 #6 Canaco Run, M/L 9-2. Comes back on just 3 days rest after a failed effort against tougher. The re-classification to 15-25 claimers and the quick turn around are both seen as positive moves. He was well supported in that failed attempt and burnt a lot of public money in the process. Some will want to come back for another try at getting their money back, so i am expecting this one’s odds to be lower than the morning line suggests.

Next Best- Race 13 #4 Chief Karen, M/L 7-2. This gal attracted a claim for over 50K a while back, but has struggled at various levels since then. From a classification standpoint, it don’t get any cheaper for her. This level is the bottom for condition mares on this circuit and on most nights weaker than some of the claimers she has faced. With a trip she figures to have a license against these, as long as she hasn’t gotten to sour from her recent losses. I will take a stab that she’ll have a legitimate shot against this competition.

Value Bet- Race 5 #4 Lady Latte, M/L 6-1. WIN PLACE SHOW. This mare has been razor sharp and almost all year long! She loves to race and win in the process! Check out her production record over the last 2 seasons! She’s been primarily on the B circuit, but, has raced at the preferred level almost every time out with consistency. The move to Mohawk adds a different dimension to her profile, but, she’s found a spot in this intermediate condition level that should aid her cause. I don’t see her move to this class to be to overwhelming and Ron Pierce is along for the ride. That in itself adds to the appeal. Expect a square price and worth an across the board try.

Your BEST BET is 3 BLACK COYOTE (3/1) in DEL MAR RACE 3. Used this guy as my value bet in his debut and he paid well finishing 2nd. He boasts the highest Beyer in this field and has been working well. Barn is good with 2nd starters.

Your NEXT BEST BET is 6 TUCKY (9/2) in ARLINGTON RACE 7.This guy loves the grass and is proven on this course. Drop should be beneficial plus he’s reunited with sharp pilot Graham.

Your VALUE BET is WIN/PLACE/SHOW on 3 LIONS STORY (5/1) in DEL MAR RACE 7. 2 for 2 on this course and he loves a route. Stalking style should work in his favor today. Taking a big step up, but works show he’s ready, plus his Beyers put him right with these. No to mention he’s been in the money 8 of 9 career starts.

Best Bet: Arlington Park Race 1 WIN #2 Jettin Twister (9/5 ML). Today’s opener is a six furlong claimer and Jettin Twister looks like a winner.

Next Best: Arlington Park Race 5 WIN #4 Snake River Canyon (7/2 ML). This Catalano trainee will be ridden by Michael Baze and looks like a solid entry.

Value Bet: Arlington Park Race 8 WIN #8 Top Pair (10/1 ML). Top Pair could upset this mile-long turf contest. Good luck and may the horse be with you!

Greetings from Vegas, Baby! Your Lady Luck is here at Mandalay Bay for a conference. Just checked out the Sports Book and won $40 on a hunch bet on a quarter horse – go figure. Let’s see if that luck (plus a bit of research) holds true for the thoroughbreds. Specifically, these Del Mar runners….

Your BEST BET is 7 QUICK ENOUGH in RACE 2 (5/2 ML). Stalker takes a drop and should live up to his name in this one, which promises to have a pretty hot pace. Flores knows how to win with him for a hot barn.

Your NEXT BEST BET is 3 TOWSER in RACE 5 (7/2 ML). Colt is coming off a sharp pace-setting performance here where he finished second by a neck.Winner of that race went on to win his next, Sure doesn’t hurt that Valenzuela takes the call.

Your VALUE BET is WIN/PLACE/SHOW on 4 DESPERATE MEASURES in RACE 7 (6/1 ML). Filly has won 2 in a row over this course and keeps getting better with each race. Garcia stays with her.
