Preview for Wednesday June 24th.

Race 8 at Monmouth is a one mile and a sixteenth optional claimer on the turf. Eight are entered for the grass headed by Hotstufanthensome who was third in the Oceanport S. (G3) here last year but will be making his first start since last November. The nine-year-old’s chief opposition looks to be Ruff And Ready who was fourth in last year’s Oceanport S. and will be making his second start off a layoff for Todd Pletcher. The front-running pair of Plenty Coups and Marquet Cat must avoid a speed duel but must be considered as well as Run Sully Run who was third in the Lamplighter S. over this trip last season. If adverse weather forces this race off the turf the main track only entrants B B time and the classy Sweetnorthernsaint will be the ones to beat.

The feature at Presque Isle Downs is a six furlong allowance on the Tapeta surface. The lukewarm morning line favorite in a well-matched event is Spark Plug who has been second in both his starts over this surface. He will face nine rivals including Vicious Rapids who broke his maiden in his only start here earlier in the month. Others entered include Dip My Beak who will be on or close to the early lead and Alcholiday who has not been seen on the track since breaking his maiden at Mountaineer last December.

Race 10 at Monmouth is the Monmouth Beach S. over a mile for fillies and mares. Annabill is the morning line favorite making her first start for Steve Dimauro. A winner of 18 races to date, mostly in Florida, Annabill will have to hurry to catch the probable pacesetter Maren’s Meadow. Last seen when fading badly in the Azeri S. (G3) at Oaklawn, Maren’s Meadow won her lone start here when wiring the field in the Monmouth Oaks (G3) last summer.

The feature at Churchill is the six furlong Winning Colors (G3) which has attracted a field of seven. With Keep The Peace and Lady Chase likely to set fast fractions the race may set up for a closer. Getting first run may be Dubai Majesty who ran a fine race to be third last time in the Humana Distaff (G1) on Derby day. Coming from furthur back will be Temple Street who bested Dubai Majesty by a half length in the Humana.

Several stakes races are carded today at Lon Star including the Lone Star Park H. (G3) which will be race 10. It’s A Bird comes off an easy sixth lenth victory in the Oaklawn H. (G2) in April and will again attract the services of Julien Leparoux. Jonesboro, who was third in the Oaklawn H and subsequently won the Texas Mile (G3) here may be the main danger along with San Antonio H. (G2) winner, Magnum.

TRACKMAN; Finally catches up with THE HORSE WHISPERER one of the racing2day.com team of tipsters.
So as not to keep his identity the interview could only be done through a third party.

THE HORSE WHISPERER is a grand name you cannot really communicate with horses can you?

Having grown up in the New Forest in the UK where the horse roams free and is protected of course you get the ability to communicate with them. No different having served in the House Hold Cavalary man and beast working together.

When did you adapt these skills to horse racing?

While serving Her Majsety in Hong Kong visiting Sha Tin and Happy Valley religously each weekend. Billion dollar handles being the norm. Makes for a good pick six.

Having the global experience which are your favourtite jockey’s, Horses, trainers and Tracks.
Sha Tin without reservation the best track.
Lester Piggott, Gary Stevens, Pebbles, Michael Dickinson.
Today …Love Edgar Prado a JOB JOCKEY a jockey who gets the job done. Trainers Graham Motion,  Eddie Kenealley.

Best tipping feat and gambling feat.
Couple of days come to mind both sides of the pond.
Took Pebbles ante post (future wager) 33/1  28/1  22/1
18/1  12/1 10/1 7/1 To win the 1,000gns in 1984 she won on the bridle going away.
Thunder Gulch Kentucky Derby tipped and backed him with stevens aboard paid 48 dollars Canadian Pool.

How do you see the future of the sport?

Sea Biscuit revived the sport in a recession what we need is similar story, Could it be the year Godolphin win the triple crown with Frankie Dettorie  wont be for the lack of trying on their behalf. Online is here.. if it can direct people to the sport so be it.
Racing2day.com has a mandate to cater for the small guy so be it.
A lot of big guys are about to become small guys. The horse is faithfull he will do his job.
Can we keep our side of the bargain.

Do tipsters have a place in the sport?

Very much so ! education has been forgotton in the sport of kings, to the newcomber especially. These guys and gals on the site work hard to bring the lates info and to educate the player and hopefully they can gain the experience it has taken lifetimes to accumilate to make them a better player. WARNING though be carefull who you follow especially if they are asking for money check theIr authenticity with them, look forward to hearing from you all..H.W.
