The Championship Friday 6th November wagering program will consist of six Breeders’ Cup races,culminating with the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Ladies’ Classic (gr. 1).

Championship Saturday 7th November wagering will feature eight Breeders’ Cup races, with the showpiece $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic (gr. I). Saturday’s 10 race card will also feature the Breeders’ Cup Pick 6 for all you exotic players looking to cash big tickets.

The Breeders’ Cup World Championships was created as a year-end championship for thoroughbred racing. First run as a one day event in 1984, it was continued in that format until 2007 when a second day was added and at last year’s renewal a total of $25.5 Million was awarded in purses.

Wild Again won the inaugural running of the centerpiece of the Championships, the Breeders’ Cup Classic and since then winners have included standouts such as Alysheba, Ferdinand, Unbridled, Cigar, Ghostzapper and Curlin. Other notable runners to have claimed victory in the series include the likes of Miesque and Lure who each won the Mile twice, the two time Distaff heroine, Bayakoa and Midnight Lute who repeated his 2007 Sprint victory with a win last year.

This year’s Championships will be staged at Santa Anita and will mark the first time in Breeders’ Cup history that the event will be held at the same location in successive years. Five Breeders’ Cup races restricted to fillies and mares will be run on “Ladies Day”, Friday November 6th, while on Saturday November 7th the remaining nine events will take place, culminating with the $5m Classic.

Exactas, Trifectas 10-cent Superfectas, rolling Daily Doubles, Pick Threes and Pick Fours will be offered throughout the two cards as well as the Super Hi-5 on certain selected races.
